Apple Crumble Recipe
Great apple crumble recipe! Sliced, peeled pears make an equally delicious stand-in for the apples.
1 can nonstick spray coating
8 cup peeled cooking apples-sliced
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
3 tbsp margarine-chilled
low-fat vanilla yogurt, chilled, optional
Spray a square baking dish with nonstick coating. Place apples in dish. Sprinkle with lemon juice.
In a medium bowl stir together rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. With a pastry blender cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle mixture evenly over apples.
Bake in a 350F oven for 45 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm topped with combined yogurt and honey, if desired.
