Whether you are in New Jersey for vacation or business, it is always nice when you can play a round of golf. The question is "where should I play?". Well, here is a list of golf courses located in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
-ATLANTIC CITY COUNTRY CLUB (609-641-7575). Legendary 101-year-old club, sold last year to Hilton Hotels Corp., is now a resort course accessible to guests of Bally's Park Place and Atlantic City Hilton. Breezy 6,669-yard bayside course is a charming old-style links. Clubhouse is a museum of early American golf. Caddies available.

-SAND BARRENS GOLF CLUB (609-465-3555). Shotmaker's track gouged from sandy wastelands, a GOLF Magazine "Top 10 You Can Play" pick in March, is area's most exciting new course. Inspired creation has 34 acres of fairway encased by 25 acres of sand, but visually intimidating layout is more playable than it looks.

-BLUE HERON PINES GOLF CLUB (609-965-4653). Region's first high-end daily-fee course (1993), designed by Stephen Kay, still among the best. Good strategic layout carved from pines has old-fashioned virtues. Back nine highlighted by par-five 14th, its gaping fairway hazard inspired by "Hell's Half-Acre" at Pine Valley.

-HARBOR PINES GOLF CLUB (609-927-0006). Manicured, parkland-style test, opened in 1996, is carved from oaks and pines and routed around numerous ponds. Flashed-face bunkers signpost holes. Fairways are wide; greens are large, well-contoured. Good practice facility, nice clubhouse.
