Stomach aches, caused by simple or complex problems, can sometimes be relieved by natural remedies such as essential oil massages and herbal teas.
Be sure to check with your doctor if you have abdominal pain. Severe abdominal pain could be life threatening.
Abdominal pain is often a symptom of minor stomach distress, like indigestion, hyperacidity, gas, or flatulence. The presence of foreign elements, like worms, bacteria, viruses, or tumors can also trigger stomachaches, aside from possible appendicitis or infection of the kidney, ovaries or urinary bladder. Possible causes of abdominal pain, which may seem quite remote, include stress, anxiety and misalignment of the pelvic vertebrae.
In most of these cases, however, natural healing or naturopathy can offer effective remedies. Naturopathic physicians can assess the problem and recommend various remedies including herbal teas, abdominal massages, compresses, acupressure, and aromatherapy.
Four to five drops of the essential oils of fennel, or mint, combined with a teaspoon of jojoba massage oil, gently massaged in circular motions on the stomach area can soothe and calm stomach upset caused by anxiety and stress. Essential oil massages are especially effective for colicky children.

To mix one cup of tea, combine 1 teaspoon of chamomile flowers with one ounce each of peppermint leaves, fennel seeds, and lemon-balm leaves; pour boiling water and steep for five to ten minutes, then strain. Drink up to three cups a day.
A strong chamomile tea made from two tablespoons of dried chamomile flowers in a cup of hot water can also helps cleanse the abdominal organs of distressful elements.
