An effective tea-compress for serious skin problems like eczema is one made with a teaspoon each of malva flowers and whole yarrow in a cup of boiling water. Yarrow helps relieve pain and inflammation, while malva promotes healing.

Acting much like malva, wheat-grass juice also helps heal skin irritations by forming a protective layer against bacteria and accelerating the formation of new skin. Soak a compress in wheat-grass juice and apply it directly to the affected area.

Oatmeal Bath

One of the most popular natural remedies for itchiness and irritation due to eczema is an oatmeal bath. Soak a pound of oatmeal wrapped in fine netting in warm bath water. You can use the oatmeal pack as a healing sponge while you soak in the bath. Oatmeal bath solutions are also sold commercially.
