We all want to stay as young looking as possible for as long as possible. Surrendering youth is not a pleasant thing. It’s true that you are as young as you feel and young looking skin helps you stay young feeling.

Taking care of your skin is mostly good common sense. The best thing you can do for your skin is protect it from the sun. Tanning is an indication that the skin has been damaged. To keep your skin looking young for as long as possible, you need to avoid at least deep tanning. Wear sunblock whenever you are in the sun. Any sunblock that is rated SPF will work. You don’t need to choose an expensive one to get good results.

Your skin needs moisture to keep that dewy appearance. Moisturize your skin daily and for best results, use moisturizer right after you shower or bathe. You need not spend a lot of money to get a good moisturizer. Cocoa butter or coconut oil will work just as well as the latest thing from those big name cosmetic companies.

Along with keeping your skin moisturized from the outside, you need to moisturize from the inside as well. Drink at least eight – 8-ounce glasses of water everyday. Doing so will help more than just your skin, it will help your general health, too. Bottled water will work and tap water will work. Just make sure it’s water and not soda, coffee, tea or alcohol.

Avoid tobacco products. This is important for all aspects of your health, your skin included. Using tobacco products will age your skin.

When washing your face, do it gently. Facial skin, particularly around the eyes is delicate. Don’t forget your neck! The skin on the neck is also delicate. Treat it gently.

Don’t stretch it or scrub it, clean it with cleansing cream instead of soap. Inexpensive cleansing creams from the drugstore will work just as well as their expensive cousins at the cosmetic counter.

Keep your skin looking fresh by gently exfoliating it. This doesn’t require expensive creams or sponges; a nylon net ball will do the job for a fraction of the price. As you bathe, massage the skin with the nylon ball to remove dead and flaky skin.

Stay in good health. Your skin is your largest organ and it will deteriorate with your health. Stay fit, eat well and exercise for your general health and your skin, too.

Aging will happen to all of us but we can slow down the hands on the clock with a little gentle care. Good skin care is easy, inexpensive and the best way to stay looking young.
