Is your medicine chest full of expired products? Its time to spring clean. Discard those "dead" medicines. Save money by using ingredients from your kitchen. They have no expiry date as they're more likely to end up on your plate than collect cob webs in your cabinet. Try home remedies to cure your cold, indigestion, sweaty feet or flu.

Alternative medicines from the kitchen are fresh, natural, cheap and safe to use. They don't overload your body with chemicals. Unless you have a particular food allergy, you have nothing to worry about.

Sweaty feet remedy:
Boil a couple of white radishes in a pot of water for 15 minutes. Fish out the radishes and cool this soup in a pail. When the temperature is tolerable enough for you to soak your feet in, use this as a foot bath. Its good for tightening sweat pores to reduce your sweaty soles. Settle down for a relaxing soak until your soup turns cold. repeat this treatment as often as necessary until the sweat stops. This works for sweaty palms too.

Indigestion remedy:
Ginger tea soothes the stomach. Brew tea as in above. Add sugar or honey for a tastier cuppa ginger ale. Drink it hot.

Cold remedy:
Brew ginger tea by simmering 3 slices of ginger in 2 cups of water for 10 minutes. Cool until lukewarm. Apply this tea as a compress by soaking a hand towel with the tea and then putting it over your chest. It helps to clear the chest's congestion.

Flu remedy
Garlic has natural chemicals which kill disease germs of flu, sore throat and cold. Eat 3 cloves of raw or cooked garlic in every meal. Fight off germs with a natural brew of vegetable soup containing a cocktail of vitamins. Boil a handful of garlic cloves, an inch of sliced ginger in a pot of vegetables. The veggies supply vitamins A and C and other phytochemicals to boost your immune system.Broccoli, spinach, green pepper are good greens for vitamin C. Carrots,tomatoes and red peppers are good sources of vitamin A.
