Makes 16 brownies


5 oz. butter, softened
6 tbsp. real maple syrup
3 tbsp. English golden syrup
12 oz. soft brown sugar
8 oz. walnuts, coarsely chopped
3 oz. all-purpose flour, sifted
1 tsp. salt
4 eggs


Preheat oven to 350 F (180 C). Using a food processor, combine butter, maple syrup, golden syrup, brown sugar, flour, salt, and eggs. Mix until smooth. Fold in walnuts.

Spoon brownie mixture into a greased 8 x 12 inch cake pan. Bake for 45 minutes until golden and firm to touch. Allow to cool in pan and turn out onto a wire rack. When completely cooled, cut into 16 brownies. Serve cold.
