5 cups of granulated sugar
3 cups crushed, ripe strawberries
1 package of powdered pectin
1 cup of cold water

Add the sugar to the crushed fruit in a large bowl. Allow to stand for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, dissolve the pectin in the water, in a small sauce pan, and bring it to a boil. Boil 1 minute. Add pectin solution to the fruit mixture and stir for about 2 minutes. Ladle it into clean, jelly jars, filling to about an inch of the rim. Cover and let stand at room temperature until jellied. This may take about 24 hours. Then seal with the lids and refrigerate or freeze promptly. Enjoy!
