1 lb lean ground beef
1 can diced, roasted green chilies
1 small egg
1 small finely chopped onion (approx 1/2 cup)
1 Tbs black pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
4 slices of thick sliced american cheese


Mix together all the ingredients except the green chilies. Mix in 1/4 cup of the green chilies into the mixture. Form into four hamburger patties and cook on medium high heat until done throughout. After they have been flipped over and are finishing cooking, place a slice of american cheese over top and add heaping spoonfuls onto each burger. After the cheese is melted, they are ready to serve on a soft bun.
