This meal is put together very similar to a meatloaf with a twist. This meal is very filling and goes well with many side dishes. It is easy to make and can be prepared before hand and refrigerated for a few hours before making into patties and baking.

You will need the following ingredients:

2 lbs ground beef (80% or leaner)
2 eggs
1/4 c milk
1 cup oats (oatmeal)(you may substitute crushed up flavored chips for the oats if you desire)
1 tsp English mustard (powder)
3 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 tbls parsley
1 cup finely chopped bell pepper (you can use the red/green/yellow varieties to give it a little color)
2 16 oz cans of thick tomato sauce (or your own homemade sauce)
1 c flour mixed with some pepper/salt/basil/oregano/thyme (to be used later)

First mix ground beef, eggs, milk, mustard, oats, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, parsley and 1/4 cup tomato sauce in a bowl. Be sure to mix thoroughly. Mixture should be the consistency of a meat loaf. The easiest way is the messy way--hands.

Now take the mixture and place it in the fridge covered and leave for at least two hours. The longer you leave it the more flavor it will have.

When ready to cook, preheat oven to 375 and then form the mixture into patties of whatever size you desire. As you make each patty, sprinkle some of the flour mixture on the patty and fold the patty over kneading as you would a piece of dough sprinkling with flour till the patty is no longer sticky.

Place patties in fry pan with 3 tbls of olive oil and lightly brown on each side. Then place each patty into a cake pan

Now take your onions and peppers and mix into the remaining tomato sauce and cover the patties with the sauce. Bake for 1 1/2 hours.

Serve this meal with fries, baked potatoes, rice or whatever you desire as a side dish or dishes.
