2/3 cups condensed milk
1 2/3 cups sugar
2/3 tsp salt
2 1/4 c marshmallows (tiny ones) or 19 big ones
2 packages or 12 ounces of semisweet chocolate chips
1 1/4 tsp vanilla (or you can use an almond flavoring if you want)


You may also add nuts to this mixture if you so desire.

First, mix your milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan. Heat to boiling over a low heat. Once it boils, stir it for 3 minutes or until your candy thermometer reaches 225. Once this happens, remove the mixture from the heat.

Quickly, add the marshmallows, chocolate chips, vanilla, and nuts if you desire. Stir this mixture until the marshmallows and chocolate are all melted.

Then pour into a buttered square pan (9 x 9 x2) and then refrigerate to firm the candy.

Once it is firm, you can then cut it into squares and leave in the pan, place in candy dishes, or wrap in pieces of foil and put in baskets and place around the house for your guests to enjoy.

This recipe should make around 3 dozen candies.
