Chicken breasts or legs
salt to taste, about 1 tsp
Freshly ground pepper to taste, about 1 tsp
Garlic powder to taste, about 1 tsp
2 cups flour
Enough vegetable oil to cover the bottom of skillet

Sprinkle each piece of chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Place in plastic bag with flour; shake bag until chicken is well-coated. Heat oil in skillet to 400 degrees, or until small bubbles rise up. Fry chicken until richly browned on both sides, a total of about 45 minutes. Remove pieces; drain on absorbent toweling.
