Note: If your child is prone to allergies or has frequent skin irritations, you should seek the advice of a pediatrician prior to applying face paints of any kind, whether store bought or homemade.

Cold cream
Food coloring
Muffin tin
Paint brush
Old makeup utensils

In each cup of the muffin tin, mix 1 teaspoon of cornstarch, 1/2 teaspoon of water, 1/2 teaspoon of cold cream, and a couple of drops of food coloring. Make each muffin cup a different color. From the four colors usually provided in food coloring kits, you can go beyond the red, yellow, blue, and green by combining them to get orange (red and yellow) and purple (red and blue) and various other shades.

Test a small amount of the face paint on your arm to see the exact color. Then start painting. It is fun to help your child paint his or her face. It’s more fun to be a good sport and let your child paint you!
