This is a great recipe for someone who has little time to cook or needs to be frugal in their spending. This recipe for ranch stew is quick and easy and provides a crockpot full of tasty food!


½ lb of ground beef
2 cans of red kidney beans
1 can of stewed tomatoes
1 can of diced tomatoes
1 can of sweet kernel corn
Chili powder


Start by browning the ground beef in a frying pan. Ground turkey can be substituted to make this a low fat meal. Drain the fat and then add a couple of pinches of oregano, cumin and basil to the meat. Add a level tablespoon of chili powder and then mix in to meat and finish cooking. Place the finished meat and juices in a crockpot. Add both cans of red kidney beans, using the juice of only one can while draining the other out, to the crockpot. Add the tomatoes, using the entire contents of both cans. Add the sweet corn, draining the water first. Mix all the contents until they are somewhat blended together and then set your crockpot on high. Ideally, you want to let your stew cook for around 4-6 hours, but it will be just as tasty if you only cook it for two hours. The great thing about this stew is that it tastes better the longer you cook it.
