1 cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup sugar
3 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
¾ cup cornmeal
¼ cup cooking salad oil
3 ounces American cheese, shredded
1 egg, well beaten

Preheat oven to 425
Grease muffin tins or line with paper liners
Stir together Flour, sugar, Baking powder and salt
Stir in corn meal
Add remaining ingredients, stirring just until cornmeal mixture is moistened
Fill muffin pans 2/3 full
Bake 15 minutes
Makes 12 muffins
