Corned (Smoked) Fish Stew


1- ½ cups dried lima beans
3 cups flaked corn (smoked) fish
(White variety, such as finnan haddie)
1 quart of milk
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon pepper

Soak the beans in cold water overnight. Drain and boil in enough water to cover until tender. Drain the beans. Add the fish, being careful not to break the beans. Add the milk, butter, and pepper. Cook and stir over low heat until heated through. Serves 6.
