¾ cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
½ teaspoon vanilla
½ teaspoon lemon extract
¼ cup milk
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon baking soda
¾ tablespoon grated lemon peel

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Cream butter with ¾ cup sugar in medium bowl. Beat in egg, vanilla, lemon extract and milk. Add flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda, mixing thoroughly. Chill dough until firm. Form into 1 inch balls. Coat balls in remaining sugar and lemon peel. Place on ungreased cookies sheet (about 2 inches apart). Bake 9 minutes
