1 1/2 lbs 3/8" thick round steak
1 egg beaten
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/3 cup fine dry bread bread crumbs
1/3 cup Wesson Oil
1 minced medium onion
1 tsp salt
1 1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp marjoram
one 6 oz. can tomato paste
2 cups hot water
1/2 lb mozzarella cheese

Pound meat between wax paper to 1/2" thickness with roling pin. Cut in six or eight pieces. Dip in egg. Roll in mix of cheese and crumbs. Heat oil in large skillet. Brown steak on both sides till golden brown. Lay in shallow, wide baking dish. In same skillet, cook onion over low heat till soft. Stir in salt, pepper, sugar, marjoram, and tomato paste. Gradually add hot water, stirring constantly, and boil 5 minutes scraping browned bits from pan. Pour most of sauce over meat, and top with cheese slices and remaining sauce. Bake in 350-degree oven for 1 hour or until tender. Serve with spaghetti. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
