5 or 6 lg potatoes
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 c cubed cheddar cheese
1/2 c minced white onion
1 can mushroom soup
1/2 c white cooking wine

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Pare and slice potatoes; arrange half the slices in a greased casserole. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle half of the cheese and half of the onion over potatoes. Spoon half of the soup over top, then pour half of the wine over the soup. Repeat layers; Cover casserole. Bake for 1 hour. Remove cover; bake 15 minutes longer.
